Mom and Dad Date Day: The Purple Penguin Art Company
The rain sprinkles spackled dewiness over historical brick as we were spontaneously drawn to The Purple Penguin. My husband and I have been married for almost five years, and we are learning to continuously cultivate spontaneity. When doing so, your relationship livens daily with petitioned passion. So, without thinking, we walked into the whimsical art studio that was splattered with crafty surprises.
The Purple Penguin Art Company is an eccentric boutique where you can bask and “bake” in your creative side. The studio suits spontaneous couples or families by offering “walk-in” art.
“Walk-in” art is “pigmented” with:
- Paint your own pottery
- Blank Canvas Painting
- Mosaic Glass Projects
My husband and I decided to “paint your own pottery”. Our eyes outlined the vast variety of paint-potential pieces and other heirlooms. We ended up huddling around an ice-cream cone. We chose the Summer-time mascot because it memorializes how we first met (we first chatted over a Superman Ice-cream Facebook post.).
When you “P.Y.O.P” (Pick your own piece), an employee then guides you through the process of decorating your selection. My husband and I were appreciative of instructions and suggestions since we were beginners. The employee explained paint colors and their final tint when kilned, how to use stamps and other accessories, and the overall experience. After hearing the directions, we picked up our paint brushes with ease and a smile.
My husband decided to paint the cone and I painted the “creamy’ ceramic top. We shared in the artsy experience like two teenagers sharing a milkshake in a 50’s diner. We truly felt like we were on a first date when we chattered over Superman colored paints and drips of water.
When you paint at the Purple Penguin studio, there are coats of fun and romance that layer over your date day or family outing.
- Togetherness glides and glows under the purple and white string lights that “smock” the studio as couples and families make varnished memories.
My husband and I openly communicated our imaginative possibilities with this simple and sweet ice cream cone. We talked and laughed while other unique art pieces displayed their artsy attitudes. The new experience rejuvenated our connection as a couple.
- The Purple Penguin initiates creativity and uniqueness. Children and adults can sit and delve into their minds of art whimsy and mastery.
Our initiated creativity brushed our ice-cream cone with personable painted swipes. We also scooped playfulness on our ice cream cone and our hearts.
- The art boutique tints your time with relaxation and joy. A soothing atmosphere surround artists as they work on their diverse “blank canvases”. Joy also sweeps over customers as they momentarily mold into a pottery maker, passionate painter, or a mosaic master.
As my husband and I continued to paint our little ice-cream cone, we relaxed in our seats and joyfully brushed on colors of layered love. Once we were done, a Purple Penguin employee made the experience even more relaxed by making the check-out process easy. They clean your area, adhere a clear coat to your masterpiece, then fire the finished product in the kiln. Then, in about a week, you receive your artistic work.
Our overall experience at The Purple Penguin Art Company was “fiery” fun and romantic. We found our inner artist sitting upon a shelf in the shape of an ice cream cone. We also found a re-glazed sense of young love as we swiped paint brushes over the ceramic charm. The quirky art boutique kilned our ice-cream cone along with a spontaneous date adventure.
Therefore, The Purple Penguin accommodates all “artistic aprons”. They supply artistic experiences to couples, families, and children. The Stained-Glass Mosaic Couple’s Antique Window Workshop would also create a memorable “date day”.
They also offer classes and camps (4-17 years old) and private parties. To find out more about their artfulness, visit their website: http://www.purplepenguinartcompany.com/
Visit them (spontaneously) for a magical Mom and Dad date day!
