Coffee on Coaster Conversations: Tap, trace, tap, the Bible is your map
Today marks the 17th anniversary of my dad’s passing. How did seventeen years page-turn so quickly?
But, as the years have flipped-flipped-flipped through life chapters, I have held the Bible close under morning light and red words near my weak sight.
Right before my dad passed away, we had a spiritual moment together. He was feeble and unable to talk, but as I read the Bible to him during his last days, he tapped the green cover with his finger. It was as if he was telling me with a loud megaphone voice, continue this way! Continue to use God’s map to avoid getting lost in the world. Keep your eyes on the map and hike heavenly geography ground.
Daily, open God’s word and tap and trace lines with your finger towards directive fulfillment and joyful strength.
So…
Tap, tap, tap
The Bible is your map
Set it upon glowing lap
Tap, tap, tap
Word of God
His staff, His rod
Directs and lovingly prods
Tap, tap, tap
Red worded pages
Ageless, lack of mazes.
Tap, trace, tap
Pace by bold pace
Fight the good fight
with righteous faith
Ah! I see them!
God’s pearly welcoming gates
Where Jesus, my dad, loved ones
peacefully, perfectly congregate
and gloriously, huggingly await
