Mama Mare Recommends - Peltier Park

Peltier Park is nestled next to Nicholls State University, and nests under Live Oak Trees located in Thibodaux.

The Park offers different play areas that are age classified for tiny toddlers to whimsical children. The play-scapes become castles to the imaginative eye that include an array of slides. Monkey bars, swings, and teeter-totters also provide more ‘pretend palaces’ for children to prance and play.

Under the Live Oaks’ cool shade, sit benches where parents can sit and watch their children make light-hearted memories. Nearby, are a couple pavilions that cover tables where families can eat lunch and chat.

Recently, my husband and I, along with our 7 month old daughter, visited Peltier Park. We laid a blanket under one of the wise trees and cozied under its canopy. We laughed and played with our baby as we watched other families form playful relationships.

Amidst the family laughter and sun-cast crystals, hung a green swing. My little girl and I cuddled up inside it and swayed to the wind. This ‘mama and me’ swing was definitely a joy to use!

This Mama Mare definitely recommends Peltier Park for not only its beauty, but for different accommodations such as, the recreation center. The center houses bathrooms and a changing table.

We also love this park as a family, because Chick-fil-A is just a short stroll to more family chats and delicious lunch.

Mostly, I recommend Peltier Park due to the ‘family swing’. This was a sweet surprise to bond even closer to my baby, and make a charming memory.
