The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, Ugly
Yesterday, I looked upon my blue eyed girl as we watched Hallmark movies and I thought, “What a beautiful and relaxing day.”
In that moment, was ‘the good’. Clint Eastwood hid amongst the Utah red rock and all was calm. The dust lay still, and I was enjoying a clean- slated moment with my baby girl.
When the good moments are dust-free and clean, make sure to inhale the pure goodness and exhale with praise. Thank God for the good moments…the memory moments. Set those dust- free mementos on your shelf to look upon. When the thick and dusty bad moments float in, you will still be able to admire the clean, blessed Knick-knacks.
And just like that, the next day I saw Clint Eastwood on his horse peering through the trees…
My family and I had to get ready for Christmas pictures. As a mom, you are on edge…will we get there in time? Do I have everything? Should my baby take a nap before we go? Everything was dust-free and trotting smoothly until my baby girl got cranky at the last minute. We had to put her down for a nap, which caused us to be late…so I thought.
In that moment was ‘the bad’. It was unpleasant, and I could feel Eastwood staring from afar. That was a dirty-slated moment of chaos and anxiousness.
But at the end of that bad moment, the sun rang like a Christmas bell through the trees…we weren’t truly late. There was a family ahead of us, so we could now settle ourselves under the Live Oaks.
When the ‘ugly, ugly’ moments arise that surpass the bad and ‘being late’ occasions, hold on to the reins that God has bridled you with. When your horse starts bucking along with Clint’s bronco, think upon the calming mementos you have stored up. Hang on, because the ‘ugly’ will still, and you will ride ‘into the sunset’ leaving Eastwood behind.
So, if the the song starts playing from “The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly”, be still and stay in God’s presence. Tune out that theme song of anxiousness and worry. Because, whatever moment you’re experiencing right now, God is with you. He has your horse bridled with perseverance and endurance to race ahead Clint Eastwood.
