The Sun is Shifting upon ‘Toddler Tulips’
In the last couple days, my little girl’s (11 months) routine has changed drastically. Her formula intake has lessened, and her ‘toddler form’ is beginning to bevel like a bouncy ballon. My baby is beginning to blossom like the Lillies in my Valentine’s bouquet.
I am beginning to see her not as an infant, but as a toddler, and my mama heart is a kaleidoscope of glitter, gold, and clear tears.
As moms know, slight changes in a set routine can cause fatigue of the mind. When changes occur in the household, the sun shifts with emotion. Sunbeams that have once shined on a shelved Pothos plant of stability, now shines on a tiresome bare pot…you.
When sudden changes occur, especially associated to your children, your heart begins to swell with a soreness. We know as moms, when routine shifts, our children are growing.
I feel emotionally sore watching my baby change. Although aching, I still extend my heart to fill my ‘tiresome pot’ with seeds of excitement, future memories, and more joyous love.
Life is shifting, the sun is rearranging its light upon a new terracotta pot of ‘toddler tulip seeds’. These seeds will eventually blossom along with an array of emotional leaves.
When our babies begin to grow and change, focus on the memories that were made and that are sown to come. When emotions are heavy, rest on the shelve that God has built in your life. His grace will gloriously shine upon the ‘new planted pot’ that is seeded with change. His grace will strengthen your tiresome roots.
