The Benefits of Morning Walks as a Parent



  Recently, I have started walking again with my little girl. When the sun skips over the sugarcane and says, “Hello!”, I set my “foal” in her stroller with morning “oats”. Then, we journey through our neighborhood.

Since we have been taking morning walks our day has been encompassed by many benefits and so can yours: 

  • Contentment crests over the day like the sun over the nearby fields. After the sun has blushed my babe with bronze, she seems more fulfilled frolicking inside the house. Mama can also easily transition to household tasks with sun glazed cheeks and cheer.


  • When my daughter and I start our stroll, I put in my ear buds and listen to a devotion and hymns. I connect to God’s day He has set before me and the stroller. When my daughter and I arrive home, I can enter with a godly mindset, and my little girl can enter with sun-rich happiness.


  • As we walk, the sun touches my daughter’s toes and my nose with Vitamin D. We get filled with holistic health benefits (healthy sleep, immune boost, etc.) and mental perkiness. Our day is then maintained with healthy hope (good toddler nap) and fresh energy. 


  • The main benefit of taking a morning walk is the immediate connection to God and His culminating day. You feel the sun on your hands that grasp the stroller handle, and feel the Lord’s guidance of the stroller tires.
There are many benefits to morning walks, so “tack” up your stroller with snacks, water, and God’sword and get trotting. Fill yourself daily with the Lord and Vitamin D to maintain a healthy and godly day.
