The Effects of making your Child feel Special like a Present Wrapped with a Gold Bow
My little girl knows mommy’s routine as gold rings ripple over the living room. After we read her prayer “booksh” (as she says), I ask her, “You want to make coffee with mama?” When I ask her that question, she runs on her knees towards me with a “six toothed” smile.
To make her feel special like a gold bow atop a present, I include her in the simple morning routine. I allow her to grab the stir straw, and stir in the sweetness in the coffee and the moment.
As my little “foal” grows, I’m including her more in daily duties/ activities.
When she wants to “read” a “booksh”, I guide her to our white bookshelf that reflects mommy and daughter. Then, I let her little hand grab a cheery picture book. I also give her the opportunity to turn the cardboard pages.
When you “mix” your child into a field of daily daisies, they find a special present wrapped with a golden bow. The effects that are unwrapped are lasting.
Joy -
Yesterday, I watched my little girl shake with joy because I gave her a wooden spoon to mix ingredients together for a simple recipe. That simple moment “folded” together joy and learning. That joy will forever be “baked” into memories and “rise” in the adult years.
Bonding-
A simple stir and peppy page turn creates an everlasting bond. Including children in routines/ activities bonds you and your little one together like the yellow bow attached to the given present. You’ve gifted them with a relationship that will be continually read into the future.
Knowledge-
Every little “mixing” moment melds together doughy cognitive creases and knowledge. You’re also creating moments where your child can be proud of their success. When success is sweetened into the mixture, perseverance will also be found in the bowed present. Then, the character of endowed endurance will ember.
So, tomorrow morning, carry your little “foal” to the coffee maker and start making them feel special. Start wrapping presents in gold bows and setting them in daisy fields throughout the day.
