Are you Setting Godly Footprints for your Children?
Do little shoes line your front door like a 90’s duck border? If they do, are godly imprints being imbedded in the soil around your home?
As parents, are we molding tracks of biblical truth to guide our children to “Eternal Peak”?
Near my front door, sits unlaced shoes that are ready to charge into the day. In the midst of these “Hobbit-sized” footwear, daisy jellies glitter with toddler characteristics; fun, charm, littleness, and needed guidance.
How can we imbed daily godliness for our children to follow?
Every morning, slip on shoes that lace up with God’s love, compassion, mercy, and grace. Your children will notice the impressions they cast into their home-bound path. They will walk and admire the tender tracks left by God.
Every afternoon, put on rain boots of patience, discipleship, servitude, and humbleness. Puddled tracks stamped by these soles will outline and fill with living waters. The waddling ducklings that follow, will cheerfully hop into holy imprints of God’s truth. Christian characteristics will then be printed upon their cheerful hearts.
Every evening, slip on slippers that transition from creating outside prints to creating inside marks of peace. Sit under low-lit lamp, slippers aglow, and exemplify Christ and His word. Read tuned Psalms to your children. Chatter about Christ’s love and guidance. As your children grow, they will buy their own comfy slippers of truth. At the end of each day, they will also slip on faith.
Sculpt daily footprints that mold with Godly examples. As they say, “Children follow your footsteps.”
Parents, are your footsteps guiding your little ones’ through God’s peace? Are your tracks leading to “Eternal Peak”?
