Coffee Minute Moment with Mama Mare: Keep your Bible Visible

Parents, what’s your visibility like today? Is it fuzzy with rustled and feathered toddlers? Is it dark with sloshy cold brews and demanding attitudes?

Whatever your visibility, good, bad…or ugly (Clint Eastwood cue), are you able to easily reach for your Bible?

If you are sitting in your living room, is your Bible visible? Can you see it clearly through the thick or thin of the day?

If your Bible is out of sight, as they say, “It’s out of mind.” If it’s stashed away in the stillness under dusty darkness, you will be unequipped for the unseen mud-slinging. You will be armor-less and aimless against the enemies’s aims of destructive and cheating wins.

If the Word of God is conspicuous with clear red lettering, your heart is clear and alert to the bell of Jesus’ beckoning wisdom. When our Bible is visible and read constantly, a daily and steady sheen deters dirt from our horse-racing goggles.

The opponent is clearly spotted by the rails. God’s direction pushes you past with tactical perseverance.

Heard from Heaven, “And they’re in the lead by 10, 20, 30 lengths!”

So, parents…everyone, strap on your horse racing goggles. Reach for your nearby Bible. Keep it easily reachable and readable. Without its closeness to your spirit, “lengths” will be short and stumbled. The starting gate will get stuck, and the competition of the day will get the lead.

If you want to be victorious, purposeful, and joyfully content, keep the words, “Holy Bible” in smudge-less goggled sight. Keep your sights on the gold letters or sliver letters, and be draped with a flower blanket of peace.
