Mama Mare Review - Houma/ Thibodaux: What a Sweet Treat Pre-Mother’s Day

 

This past weekend was full of Mother’s Day delights. Those sweet moments included a Saturday date day with my husband and a family bonding Sunday with my little foal. Memories have flowed over into my mommy’s heart like a chocolate fountain. 

My pre-Mother’s day sweet treat crumbs led my husband and I down a path to a couple weekend markets, which included the Floral Hive Market Day. 

The Floral Hive Design Company opened their doors to the public to engage with local vendors and shop handmade goods, plants, honey-dipped products, baked delights, and charming custom trinkets. There were many special gifts to pick from to gift to your mom, grandma, aunt or sister. The experience was like picking a nostalgic buttercup when you were seven years old and handing it to your mom. 

The Floral Hive also opened their cooler doors to shoppers to have the option to buy quaint bouquet cups. My husband and I bought two pre-made beautiful bundles for our moms for Mother’s Day. 

While shopping and chatting with vendors, both my husband and I took in the taste of Mellow Mug coffee. We ordered two plain iced Americanos. The espresso was bold and smooth with notes of New Orlean’s “jazz”. (My Mama Mare opinion: the best fresh brew I’ve had from a coffee trailer.)

My pre-sweet day started with a stroll through this cozy market and sipping my favorite treat. I would suggest that all moms, mommies or mommas attend the Mother’s Day Market at Floral Hive next year (or any of their occasional markets). I would also encourage tired/ coffee loving mommas to try a fresh cold or hot brew from the Mellow Mug coffee trailer.
