Mama Mare Review: Thibodaux Parks and Recreation Quick Resolve at Peltier Park

Perltier Park in Thibodaux is a beloved spot for my “little foal” and I to venture off to. There, we trot under live oaks, picking up leaves and touching the magical bark. We go to and fro from playscape to playscape, wandering and wishing upon a breeze.

Last week, the “end of Summer” breeze seemed to nudge my daughter to her favorite spot…the bucket swing. When I placed her in the swing, I noticed it was severely damaged and needed to be replaced.

A few days later, I contacted April Courteaux, the Director of the Thibodaux Parks and Recreation Department. The department/ maintenance team replaced the swing the same day I presented my concern.

As a mom of a two-year-old, we are constantly venturing to our common destinations that entail a lot of activities (In hopes of tiring a wiry toddler.). So, we visit Peltier Park frequently to catch dreams within the little free library (leave a children’s book, take a book) nestled near the monkey bars. We also visit to climb, swing, and take little exploration steps like hobbits.

A simple request magically turned into a quick and big resolve resulting in an express return to our beloved park.

As a mama, I appreciate the quick fix and continued maintenance of our “stomping grounds”.
