Coffee Minute Moment with Mama Mare: Blessed with the Family Crest of “Royal Mess”
While “cluttery” multicolored lights twinkle and flutter like Irish fairies on flocked Christmas trees, moms (including me) are “snow boot” deep in clutter. We are in the present process of shoveling aside (and into donation bins) older toys to make wee wiggle room for new toys from Santa.
So, a couple days ago, I got a little overwhelmed with how many toys frosted over floors like thick icing on a Christmas cake. I got a little overwhelmed by the lack of space in our house. I was feeling constricted and stressed. But then, I thought about the overwhelming amount of “icing” in a sweeter way…
I’m blessed with the family crest of “royal mess”.
God has given me the desires of my heart that surpasses a thousand twinkling multicolored lights. He has blessed our household royally with not only needs but wants that have caused our home to become sweetly comfy and petite.
God will meet all needs according to the riches of Christ Jesus. - Philippians 4:19
Mommas, if you have your snow boots on today and you’re wading through excessiveness, think sweetly about the blessing of messes.
Too many dishes layered the sink?
Your family is blessed with an abundance of food.
Too many toys “icing” the floors?
You’re blessed with precious little ones.
Laundry growing like a Michigan snow bank?
Your family is blessed with warm and comfy clothes.
House seems to be getting smaller?
You’re blessed with a home where Christmas memories are made under Irish fairy lights.
God has blessed you with the promise of the family crest of “royal mess”. You’re knee-deep in “icing” so sweet.
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. - 1 Peter 1:9
