“Foal” Approved “Kick-up” Fun: This Past Week’s Activities

This past week has been full of harvest and all-around the sun fun. My little “foal” pranced from Thibodaux to Schriever and pawed the ground in excitement. She trotted out of the home corral and into a freeing fall festive field of local events.

Last Friday, October 25th, we cantered to The Bitty Booseum event held at the Bayou Country Children’s Museum. It was little candy pieces of bitty fun for toddlers/ young children. It was a great option for littles to enjoy the “unscary” festivities like trick-or-treating, crafting pumpkin bracelets, coloring, and dressing up over their original costumes. My bitty “foal” had blue overall fun under purple, green, and orange balloon shaped suns.

We then pony pranced to Sweet Envy (Thibodaux) for “coffee water” for my little girl and a cold brew for mommy. The ambience is curiously quaint with corners of sweet coffee and sweet gestures. The baristas are quick and friendly. Coffee water and a cold brew was handed to us with smiles and ease. Our mommy-daughter coffee date was quaintly cute with imagination, small toddler talk, and good coffee.

Sunday, the 27th, again, we left the home corral and trotted into the pumpkin patch field behind Living Word Church. There, my “foal” weaved in and out of shiny orange pumpkins and leaf piles of activities. She jumped from tether ball to sensory sand boxes, oversized bowling and Connect Four, gazed at bounce houses, and hopped onto an iconic hayride with Mommy and Daddy.

Visiting The Houma Pumpkin Patch has been our family tradition for the past few years. We love the Autumn time ambience (even if it’s eighty eight degrees) and the leaf bag full of family-friendly festivities (and food to keep hungry foals fed). As a mommy, I also appreciate the “patch full” of picture spots to take memorable pictures.

Every year, we laugh and gallop or trot through Living Word’s back field with appreciation and anticipation to make fall time memories.

Next year, if you’re looking for toddler/ small children friendly fall time events, The Bitty Booseum and The Houma Pumpkin Patch are the perfect patches to your denim like days. When researching a relaxing spot in between events, make sure to take a break at Sweet Envy in Houma or Thibodaux. Sit with your “foals” and engage in small twaddle talk over “coffee water”.

We waddled and toddled to and fro from fall festival to event. We made memories that we will laminate over our hearts like an elementary school leaf project.

Now, off into the fields of Christmas tree timeless times.
