Coffee on Coaster Conversations: God sees the unforeseen

Well, our traveling plans didn’t go as planned. Our little girl got sick (mommy and daddy also got sick) and we had to cancel our highly anticipated aqua-beach vacation.

I stressed - I strived - I packed. Since then, I had to unpack perfectly folded clothes that I thought would be “fun in the sun” disheveled. I had to unpack clothes that stayed in the dark.

I’ve had to readjust my mind like the strap over the clothes within the luggage.

I’ve had to unpack apparent blessings that didn’t seem so transparent at the time.

While unpacking clothes and my thoughts:

I turned the joystick to the right to feel the joy within the trial.

I rotated to the left to understand God’s protection.

I twisted to the side to rest in God’s presence.

Ultimately, I’ve had to trust God’s plan as I unpacked my thoughts and emotions.

Before fully trusting, It hurt to see others enjoy their “fun in the sun” at the beach.

But, during those times of hurt and disappointment, we all have to remember God sees the unforeseen. He is in the future building a moat of protection. He is in the future protecting our sandcastle from being completely destroyed.

He knows the future and He is always protecting from worse hurts.

“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, 'My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.'" psalm 91:1-2
