Coffee on Coaster Conversations: Leave everything at God’s feet and leave
Lately, life has been different - a bit odd, like odd-shaped morning blueberry pancakes. As a mom of a three-year-old who’s going through sleep regression and major growth changes (that mix in whines and cries, and mommy’s needed hugs), I feel like I’m the batter running off the edge of the countertop.
I’m lost on the floor in my emotions of sadness and excitement because my little girl is growing and learning. I’m lost in aggravation and tiredness because the routine is “runny” and not perfectly formed peppy Mickey Mouse shaped pancakes.
But then, I run into God’s feet on the puddly floor of oddness and emotional gooey batter. I stop and lay there. I hear Him calling me to lay everything at His feet.
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28
When we finally run into God and lay every weird worry, strange stress, and tearful trial at His feet, we start to form into a solid hopeful shape - a strengthened heart.
Today, my fellow mommies (who may be making requested Mickey pancakes), don’t remain runny and run everywhere in your mind, but go to God, rest and reform. Leave everything at God’s feet and leave without looking back at the “runny ruins”. He will revive you into fluffy faith-filled pancakes, resting on a bunny shaped plate.
