Coffee on Coaster Conversations: God will give you rest in 2026

This morning, this mug was full of green tea. Now, it’s empty. I poured it down the sink.

This morning, I had morning sickness. I couldn’t drink the tea. So, down the drain it went, along with most of the day.

But, now, this evening, my little girl and I sit outside, coloring with chalk in the sunshine (drawing the sun and its beams). I feel somewhat better, and the bout of morning sickness has passed.

Earlier, I called my mom for her usual encouragement, and she told me and has always told me, “This too shall pass.”

And, it’s true. Those bouts of hardships that seem to stay encircled around your wrist like a bangle, do slide off eventually. The “this” will eventually come off unlike permanent jewelry.

Eventually, God takes off those bangles of bouts and sets them on a jewelry dish. God is a loving God and no hardship is permanent, it always slides off and passes.

God gives us rest in between challenges, because there will always be a “this”. A “this” will more than likely encircle your wrist in 2026, but our God is a caring Father and will give us strength to endure until the bangle is slid off.

So, God is with you wherever you go and wherever you are while either wearing a cold bangle or not. He is with you in the house struggling with nausea or outside, coloring with yellow chalk.

He will always give us rest and the “this” will always pass even in 2026.
